Get Carter!

  The NFL Draft starts tomorrow.  One can reference a myriad of mock drafts, or better yet the top “100,” “150,” or “200” players on various expert sites (PFF, ESPN, 33 rd team…).  The rumor mill boils down to this for the Eagles: If DT extraordinaire Jalen Carter  of Georgia, former teammate of Eagles Nakobe Dean and Jordan Davis gets past Seattle (who has the 5th pick) tomorrow in the NFL Draft, I think HOWIE trades up (with the Lions at #6 or the Raiders at #7) to take him.  If not, options appear (with Trader Howie, u never know)- 1- Trade up for Edge rusher Will Anderson (Bama) or Edge rusher Tyree Wilson (Texas Tech)? 2- Grab Edge Nolan Smith (Georgia) 3- Take DT Luther Van Ness (Iowa) 4- Take Jeff Stoutland’s fav OL (Pete Skoronski, Paris Johnson or Broderick Jones) who can then start at G in 2023 and eventually move to replace Tackle Lane Johnson when he retires in 2-4 years? 5- Grab RB Bijan Robinson (Texas) 6- Take 1 of the drafts two top co...

The Triumvirate Speak

Laurie, Roseman & Sirianni met (each individually) with the press last week.   This is a rare occurrence!   What did we learn?   Let’s look at statements from all 3 by topic to glean further info: Super Bowl : Sirianni- Your obviously disappointed that you got that far… It’s always about the journey.   But the journey’s a lot sweeter when you win it… You get close and it just fuels your hunger.   You know the steps you had to take to get there.   You know that every detail matters.   You’re going to go and try to recapture everything you can as far as the work to put in.   It just makes you hungrier.   I’ve been able to coach in the Super Bowl.   It was a special journey.   When you look back at it, you know it… It builds your hunger wanting to recapture… That’s the sentiment of the guys in the locker room, the sentiment of the coaches, and my sentiment.   More determined than ever...
